Physically, on Day #1, the light of God exceeded "the brightness of the sun" Seeing that this light was coming directly from the Presence of God, it stands to reason that it was unlimited in power and glory. It shined with an inescapable brightness that vanquished all darkness! In other words, the light had no variableness or shadow of turning When God said, "Let there be light: and there was light" the light that began to shine permeated everything. Presumably, the light traveled everywhere, and it illuminated everything in all directions, without being confined to a straight line. Do you love yourself? This is a core part of self-esteem in psychology. Are you accepting and receiving the love of God for yourself? This is a core part of salvation in Christianity. The two are mutually exclusive.
The Word of God, contained in the Bible, deals honestly with the situation that we are in as condemned sinners. We need to see our criminal behavior against the laws of God in the Bible as something outrageous and unacceptable.
